Collection: Nitto

Nitto is an Italian handcraft label founded in 2020 by Giorgia Colleoni, a former professional violinist who trained and performed in classical music before turning to fashion. The connection between the two disciplines is central to her work: Colleoni draws parallels between composing music and constructing a garment, finding in both the same attention to structure, rhythm, and feeling. Every Nitto piece is entirely handmade — hand-knitted, hand-crocheted, or artisanally tailored — by a small team working between Italy and Peru. Materials are natural and sourced primarily from small Italian suppliers, with a zero-waste production model in which all offcuts are reused in garments, accessories, or packaging. Production is on demand and intentionally slow: a single Nitto sweater can require up to fifty hours of work. The result is clothing of rare depth and durability, designed to be worn every day and to grow more beautiful over time. Alder & Co. is among a small group of American retailers carrying Nitto's work.
