Collection: Bergfabel

Bergfabel — from the German words for mountain and fable — is the clothing label of Klaus and Barbara Plank, rooted in the Alpine landscape of South Tyrol in Northern Italy. Founded in 2011, the brand draws directly from the heritage of the region: the traditional workwear, natural materials, and unhurried pace of rural mountain life that shaped Plank's childhood. Each garment is handcrafted in small Italian ateliers using carefully selected natural fabrics — washed cottons, wools, and linens — with hand-stitched detailing and considered tailoring that rewards close attention. Silhouettes are relaxed and timeless, designed to coordinate across seasons rather than anchor themselves to any one collection. Every Bergfabel piece ships with a hand-packed sachet of lavender gathered from Klaus's mother's garden — a small, characterful detail that speaks to the brand's commitment to personal, meaningful craft. Alder & Co. has worked with Bergfabel since the very beginning and continue to admire the collection for it's rare combination of Alpine soul and genuinely wearable, season-spanning design.
